We were told it was Budgets fault they did not coordinate the truck to arrive on time for us.
I called this local Greenfield location about 9am the day of my appointment to pick up the truck, which was set at a 1pm pick up time. I asked if I could come early to get the truck and car hauler and I was advised the car hauler was on site, but the truck was not, but should arrive between 12 noon and 1pm.
I was able to get a truck then same day to haul a couch. Thank you.
It was now 4:30pm pm, still no truck. We waited some more...
The wires to connect the trailer were not on a 4 or 7 prong plug, but we're just loose wires that the boss has to strip off the ends and rig up to wire them so the lights would work. So we waited...

I advised the owners of this location that I had hired 4 professional movers at $120 per hour and needed the truck ASAP, as they would be arriving about 1:30-2pm to start loading the truck.
We even offered to go get it ourselves from another location but kept being told it was on its way and would arrive soon.
We went to get a bite to eat and did some shopping to kill the extra hour wait time. We got back about 1:30pm, still no truck. So the boss called Anderson and explained our urgency in needing the truck. The Anderson location said their driver to bring it to us was in Indy and on his way to Anderson to pick it up and bring it to us.
I use big tricks often from U Haul and Penske and have never waited over 30 minutes for my truck, and that was only if they were very busy. But my truck would always be waiting on me upon arrival.
Very aggravating experience on a pre-planned day that's already stressful enough.
So we waited about another hour. Still no truck. They called Anderson again and the truck had faulty tail lights, so they were taking it to Castleton to drop it off and get me a different truck, and should arrive to me in the next hour. So we waited more...
The entire time we waited for the truck to arrive only 1 other customer came into this location and it was for a tool rental return, as that's their other business, besides being a Budget Truck Rental location.
We arrived at 12:30pm to pick up everything, but the truck was not there yet. We were told it was in Anderson at that Budget location and was going to be driven down to us at the Greenfield location within the hour.
It was now 3:30pm, still no truck. So we waited...
This was extremely unprofessional, unacceptable, and very costly for me as my movers being paid by the hour had to wait on us to arrive with the truck.
Maybe these other late arriving customers had used Budget Truck Rentals previously and were smart enough to reserve it 6 hours before they needed it, so they wouldn't have to wait 4 to 6 hours like we did, haha.
In the meantime our 4 movers at $120 per hour had showed up on time and ready to work. I advised them of the truck issues and delays, and that we will be there ASAP once the truck arrives.
Finally about 5-5:30pm the truck pulls in. Now the boss has to hook up the car hauler to it, check the fuel levels, and we all inspect the outside for any damage.
Finally about 5:30-6pm the truck I reserved for a 1pm pick up was ready for me to drive away in.
I scheduled a one way trip renting Budget's 24 ft box truck and car hauler about 8 days in advance on the Budget Trucks website. Also called into corporate 800# to confirm reservation. All was set and ready.
We were told most customers reserve a truck for a time such as 9am, but usually don't arrive until maybe 3pm to pick it up. So I was the rare punctual customer who actually had a set time table I needed the truck.
We did not get any discounts off the truck rental cost, but I have not contacted corporate offices yet either. This was a very bad experience and a waste of several people's time while we, the movers, and several family members all sat waiting several hours for this truck to arrive.
