After the gas failed to work, Kirkwood stomped into the room. He told me to lie back and "stop being a baby." I tried to explain to him that the gas was not working and asked him to please just give me numbing injections. He left and returned with his hand behind his back. He, again, told me to lie back and "stop acting like that." I told him I wanted my mom in the room and he refused. I asked him to show me the needles he was going to be injecting me with. He refused. I told him I wasn't afraid of the needles, I just wanted to ensure that he showed me how many there were. He raised his voice at me, called me a "little brat" and called my mom up. He told her he would never see me again because I was "acting like a baby." We left and never returned. I had my teeth pulled the next week at my regular dentist. Six injections into my gums and roof of my mouth and no issues.
In conclusion, for all of these years, I have scowled when passing his office or his unnecessarily large house. I have heard similar stories from other former clients of his. I will continue to tell my story.
It has been >15 years since I was here, and I still remember the horrible experience. I went, as a pre-teen to get two teeth extracted because Kirkwood could get me in sooner than my regular dentist. I went in with my mom. She was told that she had to wait in the waiting room. They tried to give me nitrous (which I had never had before), but it had an adverse effect on me and made me panicky. Side note- I had open heart surgery as a child and spent many, many days having tests performed and injections administered. I was not fearful of medical procedures in the slightest. The office knew this, as well.
