I have went there two times and asked for paint estimates for my car and both times they said that they would send it to me and never have and wont treat me like a real customer just because i am a younger guy. They lie to me and tell me that they will send them and never do. I am very dissatisfied and will not be giving them any of my business. I do not recommend.
I recently toured Vail's and was very impressed with all the cars that have either completed the restoration process or are currently in the process of being restored. The cars are truly amazing. Additionally, the employees were courteous and professional and answered all my questions.
They did a wonderful job turning my '69 Dodge Charger from a pile of rust to a beautiful show car in a very short amount of time! The young man that picks up my calls always has the answer to anything and everything, very polite, he should get a raise for how well he communicates with customers. I am a very satisfied customer.
They restore old muscle cars for individuals and also have some for sale in parking lot during business hours.
Vail's turned a simple rebuild job into a nightmare. If you value your car stay the heck away from Vail's! They will tell you they can do things that they have no idea how to do. There is a litany of things they messed up on our car that is too long to post here. Message me if you want more details. Just about everything we had them do had to be done twice. Engine was sent out 3 times, carb sent out twice, suspension put on backwards. They failed to get even the most basic things right. Long story short, a job that we were told would take 2-3 months took 8 months. Mostly because of stupidity. I understand that no car repair goes as planned, especially with classics, but what really was aggravating is when we told them things weren't right they blew us off. When a car has been in our family for 40+ years and we know every inch of it and you've seen it all of a few months don't tell us we don't know what we're talking about! Vail's told us the car would be ready at least 3 times and each time we took off work and planned out our schedule to pick it up and the car wouldn't even start. How do you not even start a car and test drive it?! When it was all said and done they didn't even have the decency to clean 8 months of shop dust off the car. Just goes to show how far ahead these people think. And their customer service, if you can even call it that, was absolutely horrendous. To Vail's credit they did eventually correct *most* of the issues, but for spending $20,000 on a car that we scrimped and saved for years to get, and turning a 2-3 month job into an 8 month job, I would expect to be treated as a great customer rather than a burden. We went from being excited about having the car back in a few months to enjoy for the summer to just being depressed the longer and longer this went on. I now live across the country and I have likely missed my opportunity to spend any meaningful time enjoying the car with my father. Vail's not only ruined a simple rebuild, but in the process ruined the opportunity to actually enjoy the car with my father, which was the whole point of taking it to them in the first place.
